Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It has been a while since I have had a chance to talk to many of you thru this blog. Personally I feel that this year has gone by really fast— too fast. And all the news with talk of El Niño and ISIS and Donald Trump has got me thinking that this world is getting crazier every day. To have few days off and some time to recharge and rest and be with loved ones sounds so necessary right now.
For myself and many people that I know, 2015 has been a year of struggle and change and hardship and also of great exciting newness an opportunity. Not every moment in life is meant to be easy, and sometimes it seems that someone or something is testing you. It is always comforting when you know you have gone through something difficult and come out a better changed person from it.
Make the holiday meaningful by telling those close to you something about yourself or your year that has greatly impacted you. It is a great way to connect with people on a deeper level than what their latest Facebook post is all about. Maybe you just finished Invisalign or got a new smile at Blue Apple. Maybe you can’t wait for the new Star Wars movie to come out. Whatever it is, talk talk talk!
Not into sharing your feelings? How about a game? Dominoes? poker? Yahtzee? Cards against Humanity or the Urban Dictionary game are among my favorites for a good laugh. A walk with someone is always a great idea between your second plate of dinner and dessert. Listen to a great playlist on 8tracks.com or on the 8tracks app.
Whenever our family has dinner together we mention our high of the day, low of the day and something we are thankful or grateful for. This is just an idea, but maybe when you’re sitting around with family members this holiday that can be something you talk about with each other. When someone does open up and share, actively listen. It says a lot about where someone is in their heart, mind and place in their life.
So friends, all the best from all of us at Blue Apple Dental Group. I sincerely hope your Thanksgiving is a happy one!
Gobble Gobble and stay safe and dry!
