They stink so bad that the odor doesn’t go away even with the cleaning crystal. It’s mainly on the 4 ends of the trays. How can I get rid of the odor.

      Hi Bonnie!
The best way to clean your INVISALIGN® Aligners isto use INVISALIGN® Cleaning Crystals, available for order at
. You can also clean your INVISALIGN® Aligners by brushing
them with a small amount of mild toothpaste and water. Be sure that each
Aligner is rinsed thoroughly with water after each cleaning. We do recommend
using the Cleaning Crystals at least once a week. Make sure not to use denture
      cleaners or mouthwash.

NO, tooth paste is abrasive and will scratch the aligners which will make them cloudy.

Your orthodontist or dentist will set his/her own price for the treatment and his/her expertise. The cost is usually comparable to the cost of traditional braces. Learn more at .

I have used the crystal cleaning method once–they don’t seem to work for me. I think the smell comes from plaque formation on the trays. So then I tried a toothbrush with soft, liquid hand soap. I would brush both the inside and outside of the trays. I do this in the morning after breakfast and at night after dinner. At work, at lunch time, I just rinse as well as I can. Never an odour. Any micro-damage you might have done to the trays by brushing with soap is not noticeable, and besides you’d swap them out after one or two weeks anyway.

Hello my orthodontist said I shouldn’t use toothpaste and a toothbrush. People use a mouthwash or have other ways to clean it. With just using water to clean aligners I noticed how I got all of plaque on it. Using toothbrush and paste is it safe?

Yes, mild toothpaste is safe to use! Be sure to rinse your Invisalign® clear aligners thoroughly after cleaning and never use hot water as this can cause the plastic to warp.

Its funny how these have no little attachments to them THEY RE NOT INVISABLE so if thats the only reason your not getting braces then get braces the pain is horrible the first few days of a new tray which you may change every week or two weeks.

Depending on your specific treatment, your doctor may need to add small attachments to help your Invisalign® clear aligners grip the teeth more firmly. In addition, attachments also aid with specific tooth movement. To make sure they are not noticeable, ask your doctor to use the Invisalign attachment kit.

I got hooks for my invisalign. I’m supposed to wear my rubberbands on the left side during the day and on the right side at night, but one of my hooks fell off on the right side can I still wear them on the left side until I see someone to get the hook replaced? Or do I stop the rubberband wear until I get that hook replaced? Please help.

@Antonio Rodriguez They do notice. They’re really shiny and you can see the saliva build up. They only don’t notice if you’re talking from a distance. But if you’re having a regular face to face conversation where the person is a meter or less in proximity of you then its definitely noticeable.

Lol this shit is funny. The cleaning crystals don’t work and brushing them with toothpaste is too abrasive. My ortho recommended “Dental Duty” which is a retainer and denture cleaning tablets. I just follow the instructions on the box then lightly brush them with a soft toothbrush. My trays are as clean as when I got them and I don’t have scratches anymore.

before anyone asks, to use the cleaning crystals take a mug or a cup and fill it with enough lukewarm water to submerge your aligners. brush off any food particles on your aligners beforehand then add a packet of the crystals into the water and place the aligners in for about 15 minutes. once out, rinse the aligners with lukewarm water and brush any excess solution with a wet toothbrush and rinse one final time with lukewarm water, then dry them and insert them back in. I prefer the crystals especially when I’m in a rush. Hope this helps.
